Verse: “These things I have spoken to you, so that in Me you may have peace. In the world you have tribulation, but take heart courage; I have overcome the world.” John 16:33
In this world there are difficulties, heartaches, and tragedies. Despite what popular opinion suggests our troubles do not disappear when we begin to follow Jesus. God never promised a smooth journey without bumps or bruises. He only assured a safe landing for those who truly trust in Christ as their Lord and Savior.
When sorrows arise remember that the same arms that hold this universe together are holding you. “When you pass through the waters, I will be with you; and when you pass through the rivers, they will not sweep over you. When you walk through the fire, you will not be burned; the flames will not set you ablaze.” Isaiah 43:2
Quote: “Tears are often the telescope through which men see far into Heaven.” Henry Ward Beecher

Prayer: Father God, I pray that you instill inside of me a willing spirit. Break my heart for what breaks Yours. Calm the depths of my soul that stir. I pray that Your peace which transcends all understanding (Philippians 4) will quiet my fears. Lead me in your strength and courage. In Jesus name I pray. Amen.
